Our first family vacation

We decided that it was time to take our first family vacation to Monterey/Carmel/Big Sur a few weekends ago. I learned a few important lessons:
1. When you bring kids with you...especially when you have a 2yr old and a 7 month old, it WONT really be a vacation.
2. Naps are crucial to happiness
3. Eating too many carmeled apples will make you sick, even if they are the tastiest thing you have ever had
4. If you stay up late enough, you will laugh harder than you ever have before.
5. If you have a child sleeping in the bathroom (in a pack and play) you will inevitably have to use the bathroom every few hours!

We really had so much fun. We got to go to the Monterey Bay aquarium and see sharks (Ty's favorite), run 6 miles up and down the coast, see the ocean from our balcony and watch the otters splash around, get a massage and facial at the spa (THANK YOU Scotty), find a secluded beach up in Big Sur and play in the water and watch the water splash up on the rocks, eat some delicious seafood, take a bike ride with the kids around Monterey, and see some of the prettiest sights I have ever seen! I have to say though, one of my favorite parts was getting to be with Scotty all day long! It was so fun to be together and laugh and play....it felt like we were dating again...and then the kids would cry and we would be brought back to reality! It was awesome!

Happy Easter Bunny!

Ty has been learning and saying such cute little things. Today, he had a bite of his quesadilla for lunch and said "Mmmm. A-licious mom!" He has also starting asking "Why cause?" when I tell him he can't do something. It is pretty darn cute!
He has also started saying "Happy Easter Bunny" as we put him to bed each night. He was so excited that the easter bunny brought him some candy and he so desperately wants him to come again!
These two little guys are such good friends. Cam has some bumps and bruises to prove how much Ty loves him! Cam smiles the biggest when he sees Ty, and the first thing Ty asks when he wakes up in the morning is "Is baby awake?" Let's hope this lasts!

Hands in my Pocket

I don't know how he got so cute! (Probably from his dad!) Anyway, Ty has discovered how cool his pockets are. He walks around with his hands in his pockets ALL THE TIME! I just thought he looked so cute the other day and took this picture...and of course, he wanted his hands in his pockets. I can't stand how cute he is!

Another Shrimp on the Potty

So I wanted to write about a few things....
First of all, we had shrimp and pasta the other evening and Ty really loved it. He kept saying that he loved the "chicken" and I kept telling him it was called shrimp. So he started picking up each piece of shrimp and saying "Hi pimp. Bye pimp". And then he would throw it in his mouth. It was really funny.
Also...Ty used the Elmo potty again! That makes time number three or four now. Of course, before he was even done going to the bathroom he jumped off the potty and did a little dance while shouting "I get candy! I get candy!"

I love being a mom.
