Can I really be getting this old?

I just realized that I am going to be THIRTY soon. I can't believe it. I feel like I just barely hit my 20's. Can this really be happening?
I made this realization this morning and almost had a heart attack when I told Scott. He asked "Is there anything you want to do while you are still in your 20's?" I have been thinking about this all morning and now I am feeling kind of trapped. Because no matter what things I think of, none of them are things that I can do while being 34-36 weeks pregnant. I am getting old and there is nothing I can do about it.
Am I crazy that this is bothering me??

  1. my friend went streaking the night before he turned 30. his explanation was great. if you go streaking as a 20 something year old, everyone chalks it up to being young, dumb and 20-something. if you streak as a 30 year old, people think you're gross and crazy. just an idea if it wasn't already on your list. :)

    p.s. 30 is great.
p.p.s. thanksgiving is soon. that makes me a little sad.
p.p.p.s. i still need a picture. i'm SERIOUS. email if fine.

  2. I felt the same way about 30, Rach. I'm not sure why it was so hard for me to not be in my 20's anymore. 30's sounded so old, but it's NOT. Fabulous things happen in your 30's. It's all good. Here's something to make you feel better....I am much closer to 40 than I am to 30 and that is much worse sounding than not being 20 something. Just think Rach, in your 30's you'll get to watch your boys blossom into fine young men, growing older is SO worth it. Really, it is.

  3. Okay Rach, I actually read your post 12 minutes after you published it but I've been mulling over what to say. I'm sorry you're sad and I understand what you're feeling because I went through the EXACT same feelings. I thought, "Have a I squandered my twenties?"

Having said that... I've LOVED my thirties. They're better than your twenties! The 40's are only a few years away for me, but I really think they'll be as good or better. I LOVE the confidence, the experience under my belt, and a better understanding of life and people. It's GREAT! You couldn't pay me to go back... though I might consider paying for the wrinkles to go away some day... ;D

Love Ya! Plan something fun - go out with a bang :D
